18/10/2021 – We are Open from Friday 22nd October
Great news! Melbourne is on track to meet the 70 percent double dosage sooner than predicted, so we’ll exit lockdown this Thursday, October 21st, at 11:59 p.m. This meansΒ that as of Friday, October 22nd, we will be open as usual.
20/09/2021 – Lockdown update
The Premier has released Victoria’s roadmap for coming out of the lockdown. Based on the roadmap we can expect to re-open on October the 26th.Β We will continue to accept essential cleans, move out and end of lease cleans during the lockdown.Β As usual, all of our cleaning professionals will adhere to strict COVID-Safe cleaning.
30/08/2021 – Lockdown extended
The Melbourne lockdown has been extended again, which is unfortunate news. We will not be opening on Friday, September 3rd as planned, no dates have been provided yet. We’ll wait to hear more and update everyone soon. We will continue to accept essential cleans & end of lease cleans during the lockdown.
16/08/2021 – Lockdown extended a further 14 days
Unfortunately, Daniel Andrews stated today that the Melbourne Lockdown will be extended for another 14 days, from 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, August 19th to 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, September 2nd. Between now and September 2nd all non-essential cleans will need to be cancelled. On Friday, September 3rd, we hope to be open as usual.
We are accepting cleans which are deemed essential during the lockdown period. These are services such as a move out clean or if you are unable to perform cleaning yourself due to a medical reason. Also we can provide commercial cleaning services if it is for a business that provides an essential service.
11/08/2021 – Lockdown extended another 7 days
Unfortunately, Daniel Andrews confirmed today that the Melbourne Lockdown will be extended for another seven days, beginning at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday. Between now and Thursday, August 19th, we will be required to cancel any non-essential cleans. On Friday, August 20th, we hope to be openΒ as usual. During this time, we are able to accept move-out cleans. Your clean will be skippedΒ if you have a regular service.
05/08/2021 – 7Β day Snap Lockdown Confirmed
Melbourne has been placed under a sixth lockdown, which will begin at 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 5th, and will hopefully finish on Friday, August 13th. Please be advised that all non-essential services will be cancelled.
27/07/2021 –Β We are open from tomorrow!
Good news everyone! The Melbourne lockdown will be lifted this evening at 11:59PM.Β Β all services will continue as usual starting tomorrow, Wednesday the 28th of July.
20/07/2021 – 7 Day Lockdown Extension
Unfortunately Daniel Andrews announced today that the Melbourne Lockdown will be extended by 7 days from 11:59 tonight. We will be forced to cancel all non-essential cleans between now and then. The lockdown will remain in place until at least midnight 27 July Tuesday.
If you have a once off service, your clean will be cancelled. If you have a regular clean and your service is essential your cleaning will continue as usual. Essential cleans are ones that customers cannot perform themselves and require them for health reasons (e.g. NDIS/TAC/DVA customers are all essential).
27/10/2020 Update – We are Reopening
We are still waiting on confirmation from Business Victoria on whether we can open tomorrow, however we are confident we will be able to. The government confirmed that people will be able to have 2 adults from different households over with their children. This is far more of a risk than 1 to 2 cleaners fully PPE’d working with a COVID-safe plan.
We are thereforeΒ accepting all new bookingsΒ from Wednesday 28th October.
18/10/2020 Update – Reopening Delayed
Unfortunately, we have just had confirmation from Business Victoria that cleaning services are not allowed to open on Monday 26th October as hoped. We have been told to assume that the opening date will be Monday 2nd November.
We’re really disappointed by this news and we cannot wait to get back to providing our services to you, our beloved customers. However, we were very aware that this could happen so now it’s time to implement our plan.
New Bookings – You can book online now
You can book in advance by booking online now. We will be accepting new bookings for non-essential cleans from Monday November 2nd onwards. Only essential cleans and move out cleans can be done before this.
Essential Services (NDIS etc)
If you have an essential service that has been happening during Stage 4 lockdown, your service will continue as normal.
Existing Regular Clients (Weekly & Fortnightly Cleans)
We will shift your service backwards by exactly 2 weeks (moving our calendar start date from the 26th of October to the 2nd of November). Your cleaning day/time will remain the same. If you are a fortnightly client your cleaning appointment may fall on the week starting Monday the 2nd of November or Monday the 9th of November. If you would like a confirmation of the exact day of your next appointment please feel free to reply to this email. This change will apply to every single booking in our system so that our schedules do not get muddled.
The reason we are moving every booking is so that our schedules do not get disrupted and jobs need to be unassigned and re-assigned.
Move Out Cleans
If you have booked one of our move out services, we will not reschedule your service. Move out cleans are allowed in Stage 4 so we will leave the date/time of your service as is.
07/09/2020 Update – Stage 4 Lockdown
Stage 4 lockdown restrictions apply. Essential cleans permitted only.
Yesterday, Daniel Andrew announced that the Stage 4 Lockdown in Melbourne would be extended. This means that Inner Melbourne Maids, like many businesses, will need to remain partially closed for several more weeks. A summary of the update and how it affects us is as follows:
As of 14th September, there will be no changes to Inner Melbourne Maids’s operations and we will continue to perform essential cleans only.
As of 28th September, Victoria will move to Step 2 of the plan. This will see a small number of businesses open however unfortunately, house cleaning does not fall in this part of the plan and we will be forced to remain closed.
As of October 26, if the state records an average of fewer than five new daily cases and five “mystery cases” with unknown community transmission, on average over a two-week period, there will be a further easing of restrictions and Inner Melbourne Maids will open.
04/08/2020 Update – Stage 4 Lockdown
We are partially closed until the 17th of September. A number of of our clients can still receive their services.
All clients receiving payments from institutions such as NDIS, TAC or equivalent are eligible for an exemption from the restriction.
Please feel free to email us to confirm you fall in to this category.
All clients who can’t clean for themselves and require cleaning for health and safety reasons are eligible.
All clients who genuinely can not clean for themselves, they are permitted to still have their services for health and safety reasons.
You can make a Telehealth doctors appointment and get a medical certificate if you fall in this category.
Move In, Move Out and Office Cleans
Move out cleans will continue. Move in cleans are only allowed if required by an real estate agent. All commercial cleans will continue as normal.
Cleans that have been put on hold
Normal residential cleaning as part of the restrictions has been put on hold for the next 6 weeks. If you fall in to this category you won’t need to contact us. Your cleaning will automatically continue as usual after Thursday the 17th of September. Please email us if you don;t want to continue your service after this date. The calendar has been updated accordingly. If there are any changes to these dates we will notify our clients.
Our cleaners are taking precautions to help keep you and our team safe and well.
What our cleaners will do
Our cleaners will not be assigned to client jobs if they have been reported sick or have any flu-like symptoms.
Cleaning technicians will sanitise hands prior to entering your home.
Our cleaners will wear masks and gloves
They will also wash their hands once in your home, and wash hands prior to leaving your home.
Technicians will disinfect the things they touch before entering your home (mop handles, vacuum handles, tote handles, etc.)
As always, cloths are always cleaned and sanitised daily.
While in your home the technicians will pay special attention to disinfecting often-touched surfaces throughout your home.
What we need from our clients
– Cancel if sick. Please cancel your cleaning appointment if you or a family member is experiencing flu-like symptoms or has tested positive for COVID-19. There will be no cancellation fees.
– Keep your distance. To protect you and the technician, we ask that you try to remain 1.5 meters away from each other.
We want to assure you all that we are taking this seriously. It is our intent to be proactive and to limit risk to everyone’s wellness by being prepared.
We will keep you updated as the situation evolves.
